Looks like the fifth gaming & pop culture festival, Games.con, started quite smoothly on Earth 2.
The exclusive report from the opening was discovered by pure luck, lets put it that way – while one of our editors was logging on our (persistently buggy) IGN Adria CMS, he notices a weird selection of news, involving a multitude of movie premieres, a newest well-timed patch for Assassin’s Creed: Shogunate, but most importantly, information, promo and video content from the opening of Games.con festival!
One rapid ctrl+a/ctrl+c/ctrl-v later, we are in a possession of first impressions from day one of the festival: The launch started with little to none nuisances, even with a massive crowd of “early birds” on Belgrade Fair entrances included.
This year, Games.con took over Fair Halls 1, 2 and 3, as well as the majority of Hall 4 that has been transformed into a go-kart track for this occasion. The grand opening culminated with fireworks, a cosplay catwalk, and a speech from the globally famous Esports legend, our countryman, and the world record holder in quick soda drinking, Nikola Jokić:
“It is a great honor for me to be the one that will open the fifth Games.con,” Jokić said to the thrilled crowd, “and an even greater pleasure to see all of you tiny, adorable human beings, in these numbers. I am waiting for you in the VIP area to grab some photos and raise our mugs filled with ice-cold Roka-Cola!”
